Privacy Policy

• Account details: your name, email address, optional phone number, and password. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form.
• Learning activity: lessons you complete, quiz answers and scores, code you submit to practice problems, and course ratings or reviews you leave.
• Purchases: the courses you buy, order amounts and payment status. If you pay manually, the payment receipt you upload.
• Technical data: basic request information such as your IP address, used for security and abuse prevention, and error reports when something breaks.

• To create and secure your account, and keep you signed in.
• To give you access to the courses you enrol in and track your progress.
• To process payments, issue receipts and handle refunds.
• To send service emails such as welcome messages, payment confirmations and password resets.
• To prevent fraud and abuse (for example, rate-limiting repeated login attempts) and to fix errors.

Online payments are processed by Razorpay. Your card, UPI and bank details are entered on Razorpay's secure checkout and are not stored by AlgoNerd. We keep only the order and payment references needed to confirm your purchase.

We share data only with the providers that run parts of the service on our behalf:

• Neon — database hosting
• Cloudflare — lesson video storage and delivery
• Razorpay — payment processing
• Resend — transactional email
• Upstash — rate limiting
• Sentry — error monitoring

The in-browser Python environment is loaded from a public CDN (jsDelivr). Code you run in practice labs executes in your own browser. We do not sell your personal data.

• Sign-in cookies (secure, not readable by scripts) keep you logged in: a short-lived access cookie (30 minutes) and a session cookie (24 hours).
• Theme preference cookie remembers your chosen colour theme for up to a year.
• Browser storage keeps your cart, theme choice and a backup of quiz progress on your device.

We keep your account and learning records while your account is active so you can return to your courses. Payment records are retained as required for accounting and tax purposes. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Email us at support@algonerd.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you are under 18, please use AlgoNerd with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who may contact us about their child's data at any time.

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, secure sign-in cookies, role-based access controls and rate limiting to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
